30.05.2023 · Ambassadors

In May 2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced the first ambassador of the UNITED24 fundraising platform — the legendary Ukrainian football player and coach, Andriy Shevchenko. During his first year of activity, Shevchenko attracted tens of millions of UAH towards helping Ukraine, gave hundreds of interviews, held and participated in several charity events, and participated in almost all UNITED24 projects: from ambulances, to generators for hospitals.

"I saw how many funds were transferred by foreigners in the first days of the war and what percentage reached Ukraine. I realized that via UNITED24, the funds would be sent directly to Ukraine, and that was the most important thing. For me, being an ambassador is a responsibility I uphold with pride. And it's  daily work. This year, I visited several dozen countries and met thousands of people. They all have different positions: some support Ukraine openly and constantly, some donate anonymously, and some are thinking about their first contribution and public positioning. My task is to ensure that all these people are with our country, remaining with it until victory and the years that follow," commented Andriy Shevchenko.

5 top fundraisers with Shevchenko's participation

  1. Charity auction in London. Shevchenko began his activities as an ambassador of the "Medical Aid" direction. His first significant event was a charity auction in London, during which over 700,000 GBP was raised, of which 361,000 GBP (over 16,500,000 UAH) was transferred via UNITED24 to purchase medical equipment. In addition, Shevchenko personally met with the ambulance team in Dnipro, who work with purchased ALV devices, listening firsthand to the stories of people saved thanks to them.
