The UNITED24 fundraising platform, the Come Back Alive Foundation and monobank have launched a second joint project: Operation Unity Part II. Fireworks! Its goal is to raise 220,000,000 UAH towards FPV drones with ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. An apartment in any city of Ukraine will be raffled off among all those who donate.
3,000 FPV drones with thermographic cameras and 2,000 with daytime cameras will be purchased abroad, then equipped with Ukrainian-made cumulative, high-explosive warheads. These UAVs can cover a distance of 12 to 22 kilometers, depending on the weight of the ammunition. All of them will be sent to the hottest areas of the frontline.
"There will be no fireworks in Ukraine this New Year, but that doesn't mean we won't arrange them for the occupiers. I am confident that millions of Ukrainians will be eager to join the second part of Operation Unity, and this will be the only fireworks display we will enjoy this year. I thank our partners for our unity,"
said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The goal is to raise 220,000,000 UAH: 157,000,000 UAH for FPV drones with thermographic cameras, 34,000,000 UAH for FPV drones with daytime cameras, and 29,000,000 UAH for ammunition. The drones will be purchased and delivered to the troops by the Come Back Alive Foundation. The first 3,000 drones with thermographic cameras are scheduled to be delivered to Ukraine in January 2024. The second batch is to arrive in February 2024.
"5,000 FPV drones purchased through the first Operation Unity are already operating on the front line. We are issuing the same number. But this is not enough. The defense forces need more weapons of destruction, and in winter, night FPVs with thermal imaging cameras. At this time of year, daylight hours are short, and conventional surveillance and detection equipment is effective for much less time. That's why it is so important to provide the military with the means that can work at night using thermal signatures,"
says Taras Chmut, Director of the Come Back Alive Foundation.
The project organizers will draw special prizes among all those who make a donation of UAH 100 or more for the drones. The Come Back Alive Foundation will raffle off three parts of 122mm shell casings, each of which were shot this year in Bakhmut and Yahidne, Donetsk Oblast, as well as five branded calendars for 2024. UNITED24 will raffle off a Zelenskyy-signed Ukrainian flag that has been to the top of Mount Everest, 50 "Azovstal. Symbol of Perseverance" bracelets signed by Azov Brigade commanders, and 100 packs of “Soledarity. Ukrainian Rock-solid Strength" salt. For a donation of UAH 100 or more, monobank will raffle off 100 platinum cards with two-year service. For a contribution of UAH 1000 or more, you can win an apartment in any city of Ukraine. It is provided for Operation Unity-2 by UNITED24's regular partner, the Aurora multimarket chain.
"In the summer, Operation Unity raised 235,000,000 UAH for 10,000 drones to assist the Armed Forces in just three days. More than 330,000 people donated. It was an incredible result. We hope that this time Ukrainians will also join this important project and we will be able to show the occupiers some spectacular and effective fireworks,"
says Oleg Gorokhovsky, Co-Founder of monobank.
