#LEGOwithUKRAINE

UNITED24 brings together LEGO creators worldwide to launch the #LEGOwithUKRAINE initiative, aimed at promoting Ukraine’s architectural legacy and helping to rebuild Ukraine.

Right now, there are 5 copies of each unique set. They will be raffled off among those who donate $24 or more towards the reconstruction of Ukraine before November 28, 2023.

The first creators

We start our first drop by introducing three talented LEGO creators, who made their own LEGO versions of Kyiv’s Mother Ukraine, Crimea’s Swallow’s Nest, and Mariupol’s Old Water Tower.

Each set is inspired by the authors' own memories and personal experience.

UNITED24 donors can win unique models, by donating $24 towards the Rebuild Ukraine program.

The Mother
Ukraine statue
Kyiv

What you see is an engineering miracle: the highest monumental sculpture in Europe. Its height is 102 meters. The Statue of Liberty is 93 meters tall.

The total weight of the structure is 450 tn. The sword’s length alone is 16 m. A special system of shock absorbers was created to fasten it. Another mounting system was designed to install the trident, a symbol of our indomitability, on the statue's shield. There is no better place in Kyiv to look at the city from above. Come visit and check this stunning view for yourself.

At first, creating LEGO sets was my hobby. Now, I have my own design studio. LEGO is about creating, bringing your fantasy into the real world.

I once built a model of Kyiv Independence Square with over 55,000 bricks. LEGO is also about communities and bringing people together. I created a large-size Mariupol coat of arms together with people, who were temporarily relocated from the eastern regions of Ukraine. We enjoyed working together. We used almost 115,000 bricks to build it.

I am excited to join the UNITED24 initiative and to build the Mother Ukraine statue. I believe the Mother Ukraine statue is one of Kyiv’s most prominent landmarks. I’m sure many Ukrainians and foreigners will instantly recognize it! Thank you to all the donors for their help in rebuilding my country.

Swallow's Nest Haspra

One of the most famous buildings in Crimea has been towering over the Black Sea for over 100 years on the 40-meter cliff of the Cape Ai-Todor.

The Swallow's Nest looks like a medieval castle in the Neo-Gothic style. Its owner, an oil industrialist, Baron Shteingel, liked to stay in Crimea, and built a home that reminded him of the familiar buildings on the banks of Rhine.

Today, the castle reminds Ukrainians of the familiar landscapes of Crimea and the Black Sea coast, which will eventually return to their nest.

My introduction to LEGO started in 1998, when I received the first set as a present. I have done many things throughout my life, but nothing has been as interesting and permanent to me as creating my own LEGO models. I chose the Swallow's Nest for the project with UNITED24, because it reminds me of Crimea, evoking pleasant memories of family vacations on the peninsula. This is longing for our Ukrainian Crimea.

The UNITED24 initiative is an incredible chance to help with something other than donations, to be part of an important mission to rebuild the country, and also to occasionally remind that the temporarily occupied territories will be liberated.

The Old Water Tower Mariupol

Built in 1910, the tower helped provide drinking water to two-thirds of the city's population. Two decades later, it was converted into a fire bell tower. In 2016, a cultural and tourist center was created inside the restored tower in the heart of Mariupol.

The tower survived both the Second World War and the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 2022. The building became a refuge for many residents of the city during the siege. Today, a bright red tower rises in the center of the temporarily occupied Mariupol and is waiting for the city to return back home to Ukraine.

The LEGO Mariupol Water Tower isn't just a toy.  This is a connection to history. Founded in 1910, this tower is a witness of the city's transformation. While making this model, I faced  many technical and emotional challenges. Showing the tower’s tiny architectural details with limited blocks was tough. Each brick brought back memories, like the sound of children playing near its walls, both happy and sad times of the city’s life. I tried to show every detail with respect for history, keeping in mind the fact that this tower is a symbol of home for many.

I hope that everyone holding this set will feel Mariupol's courage and endurance.
