Oleksandr Zinchenko and Andriy Shevchenko visited the rebuilt Mykhailo-Kotsiubynskyi School

On February 28, 2022, the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynsky community in the Chernihiv region came under russian occupation, and the local school of the same name was destroyed.

The school’s students lost 5 years of in-class learning, first due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and later as a result of russia’s full-scale invasion. In 2025, for the first time in 5 years, the students were able to begin the school year in their beloved school on September 1.

The school was rebuilt thanks to funds raised during the Game4Ukraine charity match held in London on August 5, 2023, with the participation of UNITED24 ambassadors, footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko and President of the Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Shevchenko.
