Ukrainian Cyclist Tackles Tour de France Route to Raise Funds for Humanitarian Demining via UNITED24
Announcements

As the 2025 Tour de France—the world’s most famous multi-stage cycling race—unfolds across 21 stages, a Ukrainian cyclist is already one step ahead. Starting on July 4, he began riding the full Tour de France route one day before the professional peloton, aiming to raise funds for humanitarian demining in Ukraine via UNITED24.
A Master of Sports of Ukraine with 23 years of experience, he lived in Nova Kakhovka near Kherson for 35 years, until russia forced him out of his home. He decided to use his skills to help make his homeland a safer place, as landmines and other explosive ordnance continue to pose a deadly threat across liberated areas of Ukraine. Fields remain unusable, homes are abandoned, and daily life can be made safe again.
“I want to ride the entire route of the world-famous Tour de France in France one day before the world's most famous cyclists ride it.”
This is not his first long-distance ride for Ukraine. In 2023, he cycled 3,500 km across Ukraine to support displaced families. Now, he’s taking on over 3,300 km across 11 regions and 34 departments of France, through mountains, valleys, and steep climbs, all to spotlight Ukraine’s ongoing need for demining support.
