Embroidered names of premature babies: TVORCHI on the main carpet in Liverpool

07.05.2023 · Announcements

On May 7, Ukrainian band TVORCHI walked the main carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest. The duo's outfits were embroidered with the names and weights of Ukrainian babies, prematurely born due to the war. To help little Ukrainians, TVORCHI, together with the UNITED24 platform, are raising funds for intensive care incubators.

Embroidered names of premature babies: TVORCHI on the main carpet in Liverpool

“It’s a great responsibility to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest during the war. We knew that our first appearance on the red carpet would be widely covered by the media, so these outfits are a powerful message to the world. Save our children! Save babies like Denys (1,984lb), Marichka (1,774 lb) and Alisa (3,527 lb). Every day, because of war in Ukraine, vulnerable children are born prematurely, and cannot survive without special assistance. Help us to raise funds for incubators. We believe that the world will support us!”

The musicians' clothes were created by Ukrainian designer Lesia Patoka. Each embroidered name has its own story. For example, Alisa was born weighing only 1,6 kg because her mother went into premature labor when Zaporizhzhia was shelled by S-300 missiles. The baby survived only because she was placed in an intensive care incubator. The names Sophia and Mykyta on TVORCHI’s suits are the story of twins: the boy weighed 1280 grams at birth and the girl weighed 1340 grams.
