Supporting the Next Generation: AWT Bavaria Helps Odesa Kindergartens

Erik Berning, CEO of AWT Bavaria — the official BMW Group importer in Ukraine and a UNITED24 partner — visited an Odesa kindergarten that is receiving help with setting up a shelter thanks to the company's contribution.

AWT Bavaria donated $253,469 towards upgrading shelters in 20 kindergartens across the Odesa region. One of them is this Odesa preschool, where 150 children in 8 groups study.

Here, children go down to the shelter every day during air raid alerts. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes from morning to evening. Teachers carry the little ones in their arms when they cry, read them stories underground, distract them from explosions, and keep on teaching.

But for children to be able to learn, play, and grow, even in a shelter, it needs to be safe and properly equipped. That is exactly what AWT Bavaria's support makes possible.
