Rebuild Ukraine: Alyona's history

Alyona and her husband lived with their three year old daughter in an apartment building on Davydchuk St., 42. The family left Irpin on February 24, but came back in the summer to help their neighbors clear the rubble. Alyona also shoots and edits videos about their home, telling the world about all the damage caused by the russian army.

"On February 24, we went to our parent's house in Shostka. When we came back in the summer, the door of our apartment was shot up; some things were stolen. But it was nothing.

russian soldiers killed three people in our apartment complex, Lily is now scared of the air alert, but I try to distract her with something pleasant. Yes, she sees our destroyed home, but I also show her the flowers that grow in the ruins.

We are utterly grateful to everyone who supports and helps us. There is no such thing as a little help. We all want to return to our home."
