Today, on the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, we are launching a fundraiser for demining.
Ukraine is the most mined country in the world. Anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, booby traps, tripwires, cluster munitions, and thousands of undetonated shells are found in de-occupied territories after russian shelling. Deadly explosives can be hidden in household items, children's toys, houses, playgrounds, and fields.
✅ The village of Hrakove in the Kharkiv region was occupied for more than 6 months. After liberation, it turned out that 90% of the territory was mined. In one of the yards, 178 mines were found. Today, a school, a kindergarten, and a park with a playground need demining.
✅ The village of Vysokopillia in the Kherson region was under occupation for ~7 months. The basement of the central hospital was used by russian forces as an ammunition depot. Now, it is dangerous to the surrounding area due to a possible mine threat.
✅ The Fenevychi and Makariv forestries in the Kyiv region suffered during the enemy's offensive on the capital in 2022. russian troops turned the forest into a military base—setting up headquarters, hiding heavy equipment, digging trenches, and building dugouts. When they retreated, they left behind numerous mines.
Join the fundraiser and help clear Ukrainian lands from russian explosive ordnance! Step by step.
