Village 90% Mined by russian Forces Is Safe to Live In Again

After the village of Hrakove in the Kharkiv region was liberated, it became clear that around 90% of its territory had been mined. The streets, parks, school, football field, and even the kindergarten remained dangerous for residents, especially children.

Thanks to contributions from Help Ukraine Now and UNITED24 donors, demining operations in Hrakove were funded.

Residents can now move around the village more freely, use public spaces, and gradually return to everyday life. 

Humanitarian demining is not only about clearing explosive hazards. It is about giving people the opportunity to feel safe in their own homes and communities again.
