Medical Aid: Vitaly Tokarev's story

"It was very difficult during the occupation. There were constant checks. They stopped us at roadblocks, checked our documents and vehicle, and looked at what we were carrying. Then the russians decided that our ambulances are expensive to maintain. We had all ambulances new, just updated the fleet. They wanted to take 20 cars from Kherson. We convinced them that the city should not be left without ambulances. They agreed. And later they came with machine guns and took all the vehicles."

Thanks to donors and partners of UNITED24, Vitaly has been working in a modern 4-wheel drive ambulance equipped with the best medical equipment since March.

"We are very grateful to be provided with such a vehicle. The equipment of the machine is very good. And we use everything. It is dangerous here, so our ambulances are doing a lot of evacuations now. Patients are taken out of local hospitals for further treatment in various hospitals of Ukraine. We transport people directly from the intensive care unit on ventilators. Without them, it would be very difficult.”

Thank you for every donation towards ambulances; they help doctors save lives.
