I am the mother of four sons you see in the photo. My great-grandmother was forced to flee Poland at the age of 17 because of the Russians. So I understand the criminal nature of Russia’s actions and I support Ukrainians in every way I can.

We are all responsible and obliged to help Ukraine. Russians have already lost morally, ethically, and historically. The era of dark empires is ending. We must remember that Russia’s time will end as well.

Two of my older sons are training as special forces in Sweden, so I understand what it feels like for a mother to be separated from her son. As a mother of soldiers, my heart aches for all of you: the brave who fight, the mothers who can’t sleep because of air-raid sirens, everyone who is broken by grief.
