My name is Rune, and as a devoted fan of Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons—worlds where good and evil are clearly defined—I’ve always had a strong sense of justice.

But real life isn’t a game or a movie. Real-world conflicts are usually far more complicated. Putin’s attack on Ukraine, however, was black and white for me.

When Russia launched the full-scale invasion, I began donating to early humanitarian initiatives. I also made it a habit to wear blue and yellow—trying to find ways to act both practically and symbolically.

Soon I decided to give a tithe to Ukraine for as long as the war lasts—and even after, for reconstruction, if, as we all hope, a free Ukraine ultimately emerges.

Ukraine as a whole, and Ukrainian defenders in particular, support me by making it possible to live in a free and peaceful world.

When a colleague told me about UNITED24, the platform became my main place to donate. It combines a clear overall priority with a very precise understanding of purpose.
