My name is Matthias, and I know what Ukraine’s struggle looks like. I saw it back in 2014—and I have supported Ukraine ever since.
My wife and I visited Ukraine before the 2014 revolution. During and after it, we personally experienced the hardships Ukrainians went through. The atmosphere of the revolution is impossible to describe. You could feel it in the air, see it in people’s eyes—calm, yet completely determined. I still cry when I watch Winter on Fire.
After the full-scale invasion began, I started donating through UNITED24 and other charities and taking part in rallies. At that time I truly faced an existential crisis. I don’t want to live in a world where things like this happen—an invasion, manipulation. Slava Ukraini—forever!
