My name is Federica Antonacci. I am an Italian activist and a UNITED24 donor. Two years ago, I launched my digital project Italianaforukraine to draw attention to Ukraine.

On February 24, 2022, I was going through an extremely difficult period: I suddenly became a single mother to a two-month-old baby girl, and during the first weeks of the full-scale invasion I was glued to the TV, following everything that was happening. Without exaggeration, I can say that the Ukrainian people saved my life with their courage and strength. The way you responded to Russia’s brutality—defending your freedom and right to self-determination—became an example for me.

To this day, Ukraine remains an important part of my life, and I love it as I love my own country.

Every day I create content about Ukraine. For me, promoting Ukrainian culture is the most powerful way to explain to foreigners why supporting Ukraine is essential. This war is a continuation of Russia’s centuries-long struggle against Ukrainian identity and the very idea of the Ukrainian nation. My goal is to show that Ukraine is, above all, about beauty, opportunity, art, and young talents who have something important to say and give to the world.
