The Star is Rising

The Christmas star is a traditional symbol of the jolliest winter holiday. Carolers have been using it to bring Christmas joy to homes since the 17th century. Octagonal stars are widespread in all regions of Ukraine and are depicted on embroidered shirts, furniture and tablecloths.

These are authentic eight-pointed Christmas stars. They were created in collaboration with Ukrainian artist Tetiana Fedosenko specifically for The Star is Rising interactive Christmas exhibition at Kyiv Central Railway Station.

You can win one of ten stars by donating towards the construction of shelters in Ukrainian schools. Doing so will return learning opportunities to children - one of the most important Christmas presents of all.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

To bring 2283 students back to school, the fundraising campaign was launched to build shelters in three Ukrainian schools — Lyceum "Perspective" in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Bolgra Lyceum #2 and Tatarbunar Lyceum in Odesa Region.

OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE UAH 10,300,000 TO EQUIP SAFE AND COMFORTABLE SHELTERS FOR CHILDREN

MAY THE CHRISTMAS STAR SHINE IN YOUR HOME!

Specifically for the Christmas exhibition, The Star is Rising, Gres Todorchuk cooperated  with The Ivan Honchar Museum National Centre of Folk Culture and artist Tetiana Fedosenko. They created traditional stars with colorful artwork.

A miniature version of the Christmas star can be purchased at the Aurora multimarket at the location of the exhibition (the Red Hall of the Kyiv Central Railway Station). The Aurora multimarket chain is donating 100% of the profits from sales to the fundraiser.

Ten Christmas stars will be raffled off among everyone who donates 24$ or more. This star can decorate your living room, yard or garden, reminding you of all the miracles that you help create by donating.

The number of donations from any one person is unlimited.
